Gateshead County Borough Police

Hi,

I'm George Marshall and I have a real passion about Local History, in particular Gateshead Borough Police Force.  I am currently writing a book on the history of the force, and I'm always on the lookout for new material such as old photographs, documents, insignia and stories.

Can you help in any way?

If you have any old photos, documents, insignia etc I'd be interested in either a copy or a photograph.  You will see from the images there are quite a few variations of the insignia worn over the decades.  I have collected many items, however I'm still searching for a Senior Officer's Cap Badge from the late 1950's to 1960's, the Queen Elizabeth period with the Queen's Crown.  Can anyone help?
